How do you hook up a dvd player to a dvd recorder to record dvds?

I am trying to hook up my dvd player to my dvd recorder and I can’t get it to work! I already tried hooking the dvd player "out" to the recorder "in" and the recorder "out" to the tv’s "in" but when I push play on the dvd player and record on the dvd player, it says "no signal". Please help! I’m getting so frustrated!

  1. Grogster says:

Sounds like you have hooked it up right.
The problem will be that the recorder can detect that you are trying to copy copyrighted material(DVD’s).

Most DVD recorders will not let you copy DVD’s, as you are finding out.

    Copying DVD’s is illegal anyway.
