@97kevinhuanle haha, i heard that too!!!
@rmasso38 too late dude
where’s the FB link ?
dislike for communism
2:44 for pegvw
too bad this guy has ruined his reputation with me, and I don’t believe a single thing he says. but hey… his stupid video worked and has gotten over a million views. good for him.
or you can keep you normal battery…
@97kevinhuanle no…i can hear it too
zener diode is a good voltage regulator when dealing with small amount of current, less than 100 mA. I don’t think it can do a good job; charging a device that requires 200mA-500mA.
@Scoonezy132 doesnt work with iphones/itouches because of apple, not because of the circuit
It works, just don’t expect to get much out of it. 9V batteries don’t hold a lot of charge.
at 2:10 you can’t see the wire anymore. Ironic when hes hooking it up?
@rmasso38 Would the resistor not work?
Do NOT make this as it DOES NOT work with modern iPods. Good vid tho
now i can charge my iphone wherever i go
@97kevinhuanle if u dont mind me asking, but huh???
i prefer no destroy my iphone,pay a usb for 20$
i dont prefer destroy my iphone,pay a battery a cable etc……..for 50$
awesome
@rmasso38 If you listened closely, he put a 5.1V zener diode across the battery to regulate it down to ~5V. iirc, fixed regulators normally are only really advantageous for noisy voltage supplies compared to a zener and a battery is by no means noisy.
@rmasso38 Thanks!
@rmasso38 Then would it work if I just attached the data pins to the usb port, with the other ends not connected to anything? Would that trick the iPhone?
@pthorsteinn here is a good website that describes what to do with the datalines. google “Home Brew USB Charger / Power Supply” you will have to ignore the top part since he is starting from a hack on a wall wart, but the 3rd pic is what i was describing to you.
datalines are a problem because of software not hardware in the device. as soon as it sees power it does checks/handshaking. USB is meant for 2 computers to communicate, not just charging. see if it is your solution. keep hunting!
