Setup BIOS

Setup BIOS

The abbreviation BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System and it actually works as an introduction to the OS on your PC. The operating system communicates with the computer’s hardware through BIOS. It is situated on the PC’s motherboard on a small chip and is responsible for important information when the computer reboots.

The PC repair specialist often suggest that in order to enter into the BIOS menu the user has to read the instructions the start up screen very closely. The set up process represents specialized configuration software for every computer and the user has to hit the “Del” button repeatedly during memory counting so that he/ she could enter the BIOS screen.

The computer’s core configuration set up is stored in configuration memory of the computer in a special memory slot. Many people get confused when they talk about the BIOS and the set-up thinking these two things are the same, but in fact they are not. In reality, BIOS sends information to the main CPU on how to cope with the following PC parts: floppy drive, hard drive units, discs, etc. On the other hand, the Setup is actually a program, which is programmed to allow the changes in the parameters that are kept in the configuration memory or the complementary metal oxide semiconductor.

There aren’t any specific ways to enter the BIOS menu. However, many PC experts suggest pressing the keys F1, F2, F10 or the “Del” button until the user successfully enters the BIOS screen. Actually, you may hit any button on your keyboard during the memory count in the moment you hear the beep sound. After you have entered the BIOS you will be able to use some keyboard keys to browse through the menus. By pressing the ‘Enter’ button you can select an option, while pressing the ‘Esc’ key will make you exit the menu. After you make a change you will need to save it by clicking the “save changes” button.
