I followed all your steps and pc ran fine.
After about a month or 2 my pc developed a beeping noise which would happen at random so i tried a few things as i was not quite sure what it was.
After a few days i thought to set the BIOS back to default and beeping sound was gone.
Followed all the overclocking steps again and the beep was back.
Please help!!! what do you think it could be???

@TheChriswaa Your watercooling setup has obviously failed retard. Those temps are unnacceptable even for OC and WC. It can handle that temp nonetheless, but it’s still to high for WC Standards, and as a matter of fact, I do run a custom WC setup. GPU x2 , Chipset + Volt destrebuter, CPU.

Running at about 35c at full stock load. OCing my Gulltown I7 to 5.2GHz will run at 67c, acceptable temp for that insane speed. I usually OC at 4.6 that will be 45c.

@sonicfan7 lol obviously you’ve never had watercooling

    Thermaltake spedo advance, (2x 5770) 750W
i was wondering if i could overclock my i5 to 3.6 ghz, i got it now on 3 ghz

He’s frying the CPU… Temperatures over ~75C are damaging the CPU and decreasing its lifespan so umm i wouldnt recomend overclocking that high and runing 8 instances of Prime95.

JEZUZ that case is big! He could fit in it!

I have a Asus rampage Extreme lll + i7 980x Extreme series + Corsair Dominator GT+ Corsair H70 and i have it running at 4.5Ghz at 50-80 c with the memory clocked at 2113Mhz 7-8-7-24

@uphill248 you fail in life. If it is a new standard computer no and proberly there are no options to overclock. If it is a new gamming computer it might be over clocked a little. But how to find out is easy find your cpu normal clock speed for example 3320Mhz. Then go into your bios and check if your set speed is 3320Mhz if it higher then it could be overclocked if it lower somethign is wrong or someone has changed it.
