linus you shouldnt grab the RAM like that, you should grab it from the metal heat syncs or from the 2 sides that lock on the motherboard.

I like to balance Frequency with Latency. Like when I look for 1066/1333 MHz RAM I would get one with CL6/CL7. And when I look for 1600/2000+ MHz RAM I would get one with CL8/CL9. Same price. Just my two cents.

@pekar5 the slowest is 1066 MHz btw, although it’s the slowest, it only performs 3 to 5% behind in benchmarks, lots of rams>frequency. Same thing with cpus, a 8 Ghz pentium 4 will still get trumped by a dual core at 3 Ghz. Same thing with gpus, more sream processors/cuda cores> core fréquecy. Although it’s fun to have high speed ram, the performance gains aren’t there yet and it’s more of a gimmick than anything else.

  9. pekar5 says:

@Nutriment6464 yeah thats true but i was talking about the timing of the memory and cl9 is slow man 1333Mhz CL9 is the slowest DDR3 you can get

  10. Nutriment6464 says:

@pekar5 false, tom’s hardware front page, no performance increase in ALL games over 1600 Mhz, some games will even see a decrease in performance, the performance increase from 1333 to 1600 is also very small, like 2%. ddr3-2000 is overpriced and gimmicky at the moment, 8gb at 1333 will get better performance than 4gb at 2000.

  11. pekar5 says:

@barf245 wll it depends on the frequency, it may be 2000MHz CL9 then its good but when its 1333MHz and CL9..well…not good for gaming

  12. barf245 says:

@pekar5 then why is all new memory modules are cl9? OCZ gaming units are 9-9-9-20 latency.

  13. pekar5 says:

fail…..its not very good for gaming because its a CL9…lower latency is better for gaming preformance

    cute cat :)

  18. TheMoo1231 says:

low voltage? that ram sucks… at 1333 mhz it should easily be able to run at 1.5v, if its low voltage, it should be able to run at that at 1.35v.
