The President addressed a crowd of multiple police agencies during an event on Long Island, touting the administration’s efforts to crackdown on illegal aliens, especially MS-13 gang members.
Notably absent from the Friday event which was comprised of police departments from Nassau County, Suffolk County, State agencies, and others- was the NYPD and New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio, telling a packed audience of New York law enforcement they have been stifled by “pathetic mayors” that don’t “know what’s going on.”
“For many years, “Gang Members” have exploited America’s weak borders and lax immigration enforcement, to bring drugs and violence to cities and towns all across America,” said the President. “They’re there right now because of weak political leadership, weak policing, and in many cases because the police weren’t allowed to do their job”.
“They butchered those little girls. They kidnap. They extort. They rape, and they rob. They prey on children. They shouldn’t be here,” Trump told a crowd of law enforcement officers, claiming that New York’s “peaceful parks and beautiful, quiet neighborhoods” have been transformed into “blood-stained killing fields,” and that the threat hadn’t been taken seriously in the past. “They’re animals,” he added.
“I met police that are great police that aren’t allowed to do their job because they have a pathetic mayor or a mayor that doesn’t know what’s going on,” Trump added.
The crowd, sensing the President was referring to the liberal mayor just a few dozen miles to the west, began laughing and applauding.
“Were you applauding for someone in particular?” asked the President. “It’s sad, It’s sad. If you look at what happened, it’s sad. But certainly in the country those days are over, you may have a little bit longer to wait.”
