Yes, extreme cores are for Hollywood to edit years and years of differant movie clips within 2 seconds. They are fast but the only way to totally reach the full potential of that chip is to pay almost as much for a motherboard to compliment it. Let alone Technically that processor is meant for DDR3 ram and that stuff is still slower than the average DDR2. What I am saying like the others have said, you can spend $1200 and have an upgradable great computer, or you can spend $3000 and have a fully upgraded medeocre computer… In two years the DDR3 will be more recognised by software companies, quad core will be more advanced quads still are just hopes and dreams of what true quad is supposed to be. And yes graphics cards are going to be changing get a single 9800×2 and use the money you saved not buying the QX9650.

you gotta be kidding me? it will be day and night difference. specially if you are gaming. however, if you are thinking of installing it on your motherboard, make sure it supports it (bios, socket, etc.)

It will be as noticable as walking in to a brick wall. YES it will be insanely noticeable. But I dont suggest going for such a high end Processor. You get WAY more bang for your buck with a processor like a Q6600. And you will still notice a HUGE difference
