Don’t forget to check out www.clove.co.uk for more content! UPDATE: Some USB mice are now reported to be working! Will update soon with more information! Demo of USB OTG in Samsung’s Galaxy S2 – seems generic USB OTG cables will work (mine came from here: tiny.cc ), so no need to wait for Samsung’s overpriced ones. Quick demo of bluetooth keyboard and mouse connections also. Video recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S, using a Nokia DT-22 attachment to connect to a Gorillapod. Two video segments edited together using the ‘Video Maker’ app onboard the SGSII. Unfortunately despite using a tripod there is a bit of shake from whenever I leant against the table. EDIT: I wonder if the one dislike on here is from GSMarena, because I beat them to this! ;p

@NZtechfreak On the active side of a OTG cable (obviously SGS2) pin 4 & 5 are connected with null resistance. on data transfer cable they are not
FTW
WHERE IS THE US VERSION?!?! also did he say his name is “nz tit freak”
?
@gilmahler1 Not sure what the difference is, but I think its just the internal wiring.
@NZtechfreak
Thanks!
Can u maybe tell what is the difference between the cable supplied in sgs2 retail box and OTG cable?
It looks like connectors are the same, is there a difference in wiring?
@gilmahler1 You mean the USB cable Samsung supplied in the SGSII retail box? If so thats why it doesn’t work – it needs to be a USB OTG cable (regular F-F adapter is not enough)
Hi
I try to connect disc on key to my Samsung Galaxy S2 by using the cable supplied by Samsung and feamale-feamale connector.
any idea why doesn’t it work?
Thanks
@angie0307 Hi, there is a link in the description beneath my video, it still works (I just checked).
@pachinko1972 I’ve not managed that, but might be worth asking other users at XDa-developers to see if they have.
@Spiritualseeker2007 For the same reason nobody else has I expect, it would take rather a lot of space in a device where miniaturisation is key.
So if you connect a HDD with power can it charge the phone at same time also?
why doesnt samsung just make a usb connection on the phone instead of using a cable
@MBP6705 yea, indeed
@Metroidhunter07 Haha I’d probably break in!
I wonder if they could charge you with anything?
“He broke into the post office to steal his own mail.”
@MBP6705 ARRGHH, it’s about 500 meters away from my home, at the post office, and DAMN I can only get it tomorrow from 10 o’clock!! Because I was not at home when it arrived!
@GusHayabusa1 Its because I’m using LauncherPro Plus, not TouchWiz. Its available from the Market. Go Launcher and ADW Launcher also have this behaviour.
Thank u very much for this vid. I got the cable from e bay and can use my mem.sticks but also mouse etc.
But PLEASE tell me one thing: in the vid, while using the btooth mouse (which I also did) your icons appear in landscape mode and also menu icons on the right side of the screen. How is that possible?? My settings are auto.landscape but this doesnt happen. Enlight us plz!!!
@theflashgixxer Sadly its no longer made, it can occasionally be found at Ebay, but the last few times I’ve seen it there its been quite expensive (like twice what I paid for it, sometimes more). Its the iGo Ultraslim Stowaway keyboard, and there is also an identical Dell-branded one (like what I have).
i’m looking for a keyboard like yours! Where can I find it?!
tnx
When is this phone coming out In usa
@shen2loveevi Take a look at the thread at XDA developers, several people now have various keyboards and mice working via USB, including some wireless ones with a USB dongle attachment. Logitech ones seem to be the most compatible.
@gamalhussen Thanks!
@aslongasittakesable No, this doesn’t work with the S1 sadly.
hi, able to try using let’s say a logitech wireless mouse? connecting the tiny unifying usb adapter to the usb OTG?
Will this work with the Samsung Galaxy S1?
I’ve been using it for one year and it still works fine, so I”m not going to buy a new one. (I will try, but the flesh is weak)
This seems so cool!
